We discussed Harry Potter as a book club selection in the Clubhouse, and that thread became the thread to talk about the Harry Potter books in general. We discussed opening a separate thread in the Bookroom but decided to keep it in one location instead. I've bumped it for you. There's also a thread about Harry Potter as King Arthur that might be interesting. I'll bump that one as well for you.

I don't know about PG Wodehouse. You can always go look through the forums. Every thread is still here, so if you choose "view all" as your option, you can go back and look and see what other topics we've discussed that you might want to weigh in on. It's never too late!

Deborah, sorry if there is actually a thread for literary festivals and I just haven't been able to find it - I'm at work, so can't dawdle around here as much as I'd like. But for the Welsh/British contingent, there was an article in today's Globe & Mail about the Guardian Hay Festival - an annual literary fest. The official site is here .

I hope this is the appropriate place to ask my question.

Can you tell us more about how to access your articles at HistoryTelevision.ca ? I poked around a little bit over there and didn't see any sign of your work, but I don't know exactly what kind of articles they are so it was hard to search. Have they even been posted yet? If they haven't, will you keep us... you know... posted?

I'm happy to hear that you have a new contract doing something that you enjoy; I hope it meets your needs in other ways as well. Like you and Frink, my husband and I are both self-employed, so I can definitely relate to your challenges.

mieledio: I should have linked those in my journal entry, I guess. I'll try to remember to go back and do that. And you're right, that site is not conducive to finding articles by author.

Here are the links for what I've written so far:

D-Day: The Beginning of the End

What is a Witch?

I should warn you that they're a little dry compared to my other writing; they're meant to be sort of like encyclopedia entries -- no editorializing allowed.

Thanks for the links.

I appreciate the spirit of the warning, but it wasn't necessary. I love that type of reading. Now that I see what it is, I find it slightly surprising but oddly gratifying to know that you enjoy that type of writing. I totally stink at the type of writing that you do most of the time here and at TWoP, but I can and do write not-too-shabby technical or scholarly nonfiction.

The articles are, of course (it really goes without saying), excellent. My next question is whether you'd be willing to post a link somewhere around here (maybe here ?) any time you write something for HistoryTelevision since it appears to be impossible for us to find them otherwise. Would you mind terribly?

Not at all. I'll put it on the "Afterword" page with links to my other articles. Thank you for asking.

If I remember correctly from an earlier explanation, Deborah set up member #1 in the experimental stage of the forums and when she found a glitch she had to start over as #2. There's no secret #1 - she's totally the boss of us ;\)
